Parker Recipient of 2008 Outstanding Business Leader of the Year

PONCA CITY OK — Brad Parker, of Parker Pest Control, Inc. is the recipient of the 2008 Governor Brad Henry’s Commendation of Outstanding Business Leader of the Year Award for the North Central Area. Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins presented Brad his award. Parker was honored on Workforce Oklahoma Day at the state capital on February 14th, 2008. He was recognized as a business leader in the state of Oklahoma who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in supporting and serving the system. The honorees are not winners of a competition; rather they are shining examples of the power of Workforce Oklahoma.

Parker has worked in the pest control business since he was 12 years old. Parker Pest Control, Inc. has been in business since 1963. Parker has office locations in Enid, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Ponca City and Wichita, Kansas. A commercial division was established in Los Angeles, California about 20 years ago. Parker also sells pest control franchises, the most recent of which was established in Saudi Arabia.

Brad believes in community responsibility and is active in the communities where the business operates. He has also held several offices of the National Pest Management Association. He is a member of the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce and donates to many charitable organizations. The mission of Parker Pest Control and the way Brad believes in getting things done is, “Whatever it Takes!” That belief shows through in everything Brad does, which is why he was chosen as 2008 Business Person of the Year.
